I have seen people use Camaro axles under that era of truck, The 3rd gen F-body axle is a little bit more narrow than the 4th, I cant remember the differences right off the top of my head but we have both sitting in the driveway right now. Another option if you had the time, money, or if your having somebody else do the work, would be to have the axle narrowed at a shop. Of course you'll have to make your own mounts either way, but measure your stock axle from outside to outside (without the wheels on) and I'll measure mine on both cars later today and let you know. That would at least let you know what your options are that way.
