no it doesn’t its fairly cheap to go to an automatic, all you need is a transmission with converter and a cross member with a shifter, usually its better to take the steering column out and change it,Chevy parts are every where,so parts aren’t going to be a problem, labor isn’t bad either ,we have done those in one day at the shop, just about any one can do this with the right tools,i,ll give you a web site to find some nice ones on,good luck ,there’s plenty of them around,

Not a big deal at all. Take out standard, put in the auto. You might have to change the yolk on the driveshaft (the part of the driveshaft the slides into the tail end of the trans). Change the fly wheel to a flex plate (this bolts to the crank shaft on the back of the engine covered by the trans). Get a trans cooler unless the radiator all ready has a cooler in it. Worst case seniero might have to shorten or lengthen the driveshaft.
GOOD LUCK!!

What dodge man said plus you’ll need a tranny cooler if your radiator doesn’t have one built in. Your driveshaft may have to be either shortened or lengthened too. Chevy trucks are so common you could probably find one in a salvage yard and pull everything you need.

You could get lucky and find one with factory auto. They’re harder to find. My friend has a 62 dodge P/U with a pushbutton transmission. Its neat theres no gearshift.
