Personally, I go w/ a hard shell. I've had both kinds and the hard shell is the best option(from a maintenance stand point) in my opinion. The soft tonneau cover will dry out in a couple of yrs. and need to be repl. I had to repl. the cover on my x 91 Silverado Z71 three times over six or eight yrs. and finally get quit running one on it. Now, my new 04 Silverado c1500 has the hard cover on it and it is alot better. But, I'd look @ Lund or one of their quality.

Good luck!

I wouldn't put a soft tonneau on it period. Have deal with snaps and rolling the cover off. They look dirty after while. Had a soft cover on my pickup. Found it useless.
I saved up and bought a roller cover that rolls out of a box placed at the front of the bed. Slides on rails in the box. It is a hard cover and can be locked. Best thing about is, i put it in, and it will go with me when i sell it. Had a few issues about the rear lock messing up, but other then that, I wax it and it looks great. PS you can also paint it to match your truck colour. Just my thoughts....i wouldn't mess with a soft cover
