It can be hard to see on some rigs. It usually has a small (about 3/8 nut) on the brush cap. Take this off. There is usually a bolt (about 1/2 or 9/16) on the block end of the strap (or brace). You shoulb be able to just loosen this one and swing the brace up out of the way. Most times things are pretty tight. On most, it is easier to lift the starter up over the mount and then drop the bendix end down and out. Once it is hanging on the wires, you can then take the wires loose.
