Vapor lock is most common when using a fuel that is a much higher then recommended octane rating. Timing is of coarse a possibility but I would look more into your fuel problems, if you actually have a carb. which would be pretty uncommon, I would check to make sure the choke is properly adjusted try idleing the car and adjusting the mixture.

most likely a catalytic converter starting to plug up......at idle..with little pressure.. it,s fine.....as you go ..it heat,s up...until it chokes off your ability to exhaust........after restart...you,ll have a few minute,s to get hot again....then stall.........if not equipped with a converter.....then fuel pressure would be suspect.....or possibly an ignition coil that fail,s after reaching operating temperature......good luck!

Could be your rotary button inside of your distributor. Take the distributor cap off and check to see if there is any thing corroded inside. If it is it might need to be replaced. I've had this happen once with a fuel injected 350 and it only would go maybe 4 miles at a time until it stalled out. Well hope this helps ya.

need to have coil checked along with the module in the distributor. when they go bad heats the enemy and when its running they are heating up.
