i own a shop and you change the water pump and intake also,all those are different than the street engines are,good luck with it,hope this helps.

I used to work in a marina as a mechanic and I’d say the simple answer is, you don’t. There’s much more to a marine engine than the block, heads and accessories being different. Things like the induction system and exhaust are obvious. Other things like cam profiles and cooling system changes might not seem as obvious.
Marine engines start out with a different casting, usually containing a higher nickel content to make them more durable. The tolerances are closer than automotive engines and the internals are much stronger. Most have forged cranks, not cast like your truck.
The reasons for this seem obvious if you consider that your truck engine might see full throttle (in the truck) for a few seconds at most during a given trip. The engine in a boat might see full throttle all day. Your truck has to overcome inertia to get up to speed and then you back off the gas to maintain speed. In a boat the resistance is constant and the engine has to push water all the time.
I’ve seen it done though, and the engines never last the summer.
On the flip side, marine engines won’t live in trucks either, unless the cam is changed.
3 Fatal Attraction
For the most part I agree with the above post. However, its still possible and i’ve seen it done. Your going to be looking at a new valve train in order to handle higher rpms which could also lead to changes in head design etc etc list goes on.
You have to make a consideration for that fact that this is a direct drive engine vs a geared engine. There is quite a bit of math involved in getting the right ratios set up. IMHO, its totally not worth at all, but possible
