That deends on where you get the transmission, What type you want ( 700R4, 4l60E, Turbo 350, etc.) It Also depends on what engine your truck has. You will need either a new column shifter or a floor shifter to control it, A new computer to tell the engine which transmission is in it and a radiator with a transmission cooler or an after market transmission cooler and transmission cooling lines.

in this truck it is inadvisable. the cost would be in the 2-3 thousand dollar range to have this done professionally. the truck may never run right again without changing the ECM and much of the wiring. best of luck if you do try to do the swap-over
