pulling codes probably won't get your truck started...you need 3 things for the truck to run..fuel..spark..air...if your not getting fuel in the rail. check it at the thing that looks like a valve stem...if ignition is on and you hear a hum at the tank (electric fuel pump) check for pressure..no fuel check fuel pump...or shoot some carb cleaned in the air cleaner and if it fires for a second and dies...pump...

go to your local auto parts store like auto zone sometime they have a portable trouble code computer. they will most likely do it for free. but you have to be there to do it otherwise they have one you can buy they can get pricey though they have model specific ones you can get that are a bit cheaper. they cant do all codes some you have to go to the dealer to get the code read. i recomend not going directly to the dealership cost to much like $100 just to read it. but a truck that old if the check engine light isnt on there is no code to read. i have a 97 chevy. that had a simular problem. when you turn the key does the engien turn and turn but with no fire.with mine there was spark just no fuel. also before you crank the engien check to see if you hear the fuel pump prime in your gas tank you should hear a buzzing sound for about 2 seconds then stops. if no sound your fuel pump (in the tank) is bad or in my case the fuel sending unit had melted inside the take due to bad ground. before you go thru all that get a new fuel relay $15. if that doesnt get you going time to drop the tank. hope this helps

Have it towed to the nearest Chevrolet dealer who will have the necessary equipment to properly diagnose and fix the problem.

On my 94 K1500 Blazer, you have to take a wire or paper clip and short two of the ALDL (Assembly Line Data Link)terminals together. It should be located close to the steering column, underneath the dash. It will probably have 12 individual pins, two rows of 6. Short the two that are farthest right on the top row, and turn the ignition to ON (DO NOT start the engine).

What will happen now is the Check Engine Light will flash the codes that are stored. It will start with Code 12 (only means that you're in diagnostic mode), which will be one flash, a pause, and two flashes. It'll do this twice more, and then any stored codes will be displayed in the same manner. If there aren't any codes stored, Code 12 will repeat.
