what happened how did it break does it start does it crank include these details

the car rbreaking down has nothing to do with clutch springs if the car is running but not shifting gesars smoothly that is because of the clutch springs or a lot of other things

the car breaking down has nothing to do with the clutch

THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM

Depends on what he means by "spring" I think he might be talking about the return spring that makes the pedal return to the up position under the dash . If that spring lets go the pedal will lose alot of pressure and not be able to do the job of compressing the pressure plate in the bell housing . It also depends if its a manual style or hydraulic . I'm assuming its the old style manual if so it shouldn't be that big of a job or that expensive

Might just need the pressure plate, who knows until it is tore apart, You can buy the three parts that should probably be changed at the same time for like 80-150 bucks a set, that would include the clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bushing. Good luck on your quest.
